Daily Dig: 2/28/21

Scripture: 2 Peter 2 & 3 (the rest of the book)

Chapter 2 warns of false prophets and teachers. They’re already here, and they’re part of the reason we have to study the Bible for ourselves. How can we spot a lie if we don’t know the truth?

Chapter 3 tells us to remember these things, and that scoffers will question God’s timing. He wants us not to fall for that line of reasoning and to realize that God doesn’t necessarily work within our timeframe.

He isn’t slow.●

He is patient.●

Any seeming delay is really an extension of His mercy.●

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn!

13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Journal: Write a prayer “hastening the coming of the day of God.”

Move: I wanted to share some of my favorite pins from over the years. (I know pictures are helpful with DIY workouts as well.) I will post a couple of these a week for a while:

This is actually a series of workouts to get you to do a pullup in 3-weeks. I still can’t do a pullup (and I’m okay with that 😉) but maybe it’s a goal for you. I may try this again as well:

And here’s a kettlebell workout for you:

(You can substitute a dumbbell)

Praise the Lord, and just show up.
