Scripture: Nehemiah 1 and 2

Sometimes it just takes one person taking a stand to give others the courage they need to do the same.

Nehemiah saw a problem: the walls of Jerusalem had been torn down.

Nehemiah took a risk: He asked his boss (the King of Persia) if he could leave his post as cup-bearer to go rebuild the walls. The Lord was with Nehemiah and the king granted his request plus he gave him supplies!

Nehemiah took action: He went and checked it all out, sizing up the job before him. Most people would’ve said it was too hard, maybe impossible.

Nehemiah trusted God: He testified to the Jews in Jerusalem of God’s mercy on him in the presence of the king. He told them of the king’s words and the supplies he’d been granted. That was all they needed to hear…

Let us rise and build.

One person, believing in one God, brought hope to a whole nation.

Journal: Pray for leaders: leaders for the church in America and around the world…leaders who fear God, not man. Pray for courage for them and for yourself as well.

Move: Long run.

Just run (or run/walk) a little farther than you usually do.
