Daily Dig: 4/26/21

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4

For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

There will always be affliction in this world. Paul faced great affliction as he carried the gospel to the far ends of his world.

It’s our response to affliction that matters:

8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed…

How is this possible?

6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.

Not by our power, but by the power of God through Jesus Christ’s work in us.

We shine with His eternal light through jars of temporal clay.

…so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.

Vs. 15

Journal: Write a prayer for those in affliction. If you feel like you’re in affliction pray that you will not be crushed. “Increase thanksgiving.”

Move: Rest OR re-do. Take the day to do what you need to do.

{Beginner’s run #3: Walk 5 minutes to warm-up, then run 3 minutes/walk 1 minute x4, then walk 5 minutes to cool-down.}
