Scripture: Job 12

If he tears down, none can rebuild; if he shuts a man in, none can open. If he withholds the waters, they dry up; if he sends them out, they overwhelm the land. With him are strength and sound wisdom; the deceived and the deceiver are his. He leads counselors away stripped, and judges he makes fools. He looses the bonds of kings and binds a waistcloth on their hips. He leads priests away stripped and overthrows the mighty. He deprives of speech those who are trusted and takes away the discernment of the elders. He pours contempt on princes and loosens the belt of the strong. He uncovers the deeps out of darkness and brings deep darkness to light. He makes nations great, and he destroys them; he enlarges nations, and leads them away. He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth and makes them wander in a trackless waste. They grope in the dark without light, and he makes them stagger like a drunken man.
‭‭Job‬ ‭12:14-25‬

When times are hard, dark, and confusing you have to cling to the Truth you know.

God is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (all-present), and omnipotent (all-powerful)…and He will never change.

Scripture: Psalm 103

Benefits of the Lord:

  • He forgives
  • He redeems
  • He heals
  • He “crowns you with steadfast love and mercy”
  • He…

satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

  • He works righteousness and justice
  • He is merciful and gracious
  • He is “slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love”
  • He does not deal with us according to our sins

11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
13 As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.
14 For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust.

Man is blown away with the wind, but the steadfast love of the Lord is everlasting.

Scripture: Luke 12

A good face can only cover a wicked heart for so long.

The Pharisees put on a good show but Jesus warned that their truth would be revealed.

So it is with us.

How do we combat this hypocrisy in our own lives?

Fear God.

5 But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!

This is a healthy fear…not an anxious fear. We have no need for anxiety when we’re living in the fear of the Lord.

God provides for His own.

25 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 26 If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!

How much more will He do for us!

Journal: Write a prayer asking God to protect you from hypocrisy.

Praise the Lord, and keep showing up.
