Scripture: John 11

Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

Jesus wanted Martha to believe in Him BEFORE she saw Lazarus resurrected from death.

Believing is seeing.

She still wasn’t sure but He was there to reassure her:

Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”

John 11:40

He wants us to believe. He wants us to see.

He, of course, never doubted God’s power to raise the dead. (He is God Himself afterall.) But He prayed to His Father:

“Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.”

Jesus came to raise us all to new life. Believe and see.

Scripture: Isaiah 45

God has an end goal. He has things that will be done for Israel, and things that will be done for the whole Church, and things that will be done for the world.

He used Cyrus for His purpose even though Cyrus did not know Him:

For the sake of my servant Jacob,

and Israel my chosen,

I call you by your name,

I name you, though you do not know me.

Vs. 4

All of creation belongs to the Lord. He can and will use it for His purpose. From you and me, to presidents and politicians, to the very rocks and sea.

His will be done.

Journal: Write a prayer thanking the Lord that His will will be done.

Scripture: Psalm 84

This is a beautiful Psalm of praise!

1 How lovely is your dwelling place,O LORD of hosts! 2 My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.

Apart from God there is no rest for the soul.

11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield;the LORD bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. 12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you!

He is all that is good.

Journal: Write this Psalm as a prayer of praise and thanksgiving.
