Scripture: Psalm 119:137-144

“Righteous are you, O Lord, and right are your rules. You have appointed your testimonies in righteousness and in all faithfulness. My zeal consumes me, because my foes forget your words. Your promise is well tried, and your servant loves it. I am small and despised, yet I do not forget your precepts. Your righteousness is righteous forever, and your law is true.”

What a year.

Praise the Lord! He knew how badly I would need this foundation of daily digging in His word. He has dug deep in my soul and planted roots there that are unshakeable. They hold firm by the power of His Spirit and the gift of His grace. I’m so thankful to Him.

I pray that these scriptures and pictures and devotions and prayers (and workouts too!) have been a blessing in your life. Thank you for digging along with me all year.

Let’s keep pushing back the dark…

(That’s my motto for 2021.)

Journal: Write a prayer of thanks to God that even though this year held trouble and anguish we were held tight by His mighty hand.

Move: Last run of the year. Make it count.

{Beginner’s run #20: Walk 5 minutes to warm-up, then run 8 minute/walk 1 minute x3, then walk 5 minutes to cool-down.}

Praise the Lord, and keep showing up.

Scripture: Psalm 119:105-112

God gives us His word to guide us.

His word pushes back the dark.

When you feel darkness closing in around you cling more tightly to His word.

Light up the darkness with the Truth, and let joy reign.

“The wicked have laid a snare for me, but I do not stray from your precepts. Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭119:110-111

Journal: Copy more verses of scripture to memorize. You may need these in dark times…either for yourselves or others.

Move: Run. I’m trying to run a consistent 5 miles a day this week. Join me today.

{Beginner’s run #19: Walk 5 minutes to warm-up, then run 8 minute/walk 1 minute x4, then walk 5 minutes to cool-down.}

Praise the Lord, and keep showing up.

Guard your way!

Pray, “Bind my wandering heart to Thee.”

Fill your arsenal with His Word.

And do not be moved.

15 I will meditate on your precepts

and fix my eyes on your ways.

16 I will delight in your statutes;

I will not forget your word.

Journal: Copy this part of the Psalm as a prayer.
