Scripture: Romans 3

“None is righteous, no, not one; 11 no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” 13 “Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.” “The venom of asps is under their lips.” 14 “Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.” 15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16 in their paths are ruin and misery, 17 and the way of peace they have not known.” 18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

God sent Jesus to die as a propiation (appeasement) for our sins (vs 25).

He’s the bridge between God’s perfect righteousness and our lack thereof.

All we need is faith to walk across.

Realize you are a sinner and can’t get to God on your own. Rely on the perfect sacrifice of Jesus. He made the way.

Journal: Thank the Lord for Jesus’ sacrifice and God’s forgiveness of our sins.

Scripture: Romans 2

God sees the heart.

We mortals judge by what our human senses perceive. Sometimes we judge correctly, but sometimes we can’t even see our own reflections clearly.

Be thankful that the Lord does not show partiality. Be thankful that He’s patient. Be thankful that He wants all people to be saved.

Judge yourself. Make sure your heart and life are dedicated to the service of Christ. And judge your judgement of others. Extend the grace and patience of God to those around you, and let the Lord take care of the rest.

Journal: Thank the Lord for His patience and grace. Everyday.

Move: Mid-week run day. 3-5 miles…nothing fancy…just running free.

{Beginner’s run #22: warm-up with a 5-minute walk, then run 9 minutes/walk 1 minute x4, then cool-down with a 5-minute walk.}

Praise the Lord, and keep showing up.

Scripture: Romans 1

“…as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.'”

Live by faith based on truth…

The truth is available to us all…

20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Yet we suppress this truth. We become diluted by things of the world, and we begin to believe the world’s “truths.”

Hold to the One truth…the whole Word of God. From beginning to end He wrote the story. He created the world, He participates in the world, and He will make it all new again one day.

Don’t be discouraged by the evil, fight the lies of Satan; do not fear, do not be ashamed.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:16
