Scripture: John 13:18-30

It’s hard to comprehend why Judas would betray Jesus. It’s a sad, sad story.

Part of the sadness is that “Jesus was troubled in His spirit.” The feelings of betrayal and rejection were certainly beginning to weigh Him down.

Jesus came to take our burdens, forgive our sins, and heal our brokenness. He did it willingly. Don’t deny Him or reject Him.

We may not be able to fully understand His plan, (Judas obviously didn’t understand) but we can hold on to the person of Jesus. We can believe that He lived, died, and rose again to save us. We can trust Him.

Stop trying to take matters into your own hands. His hands are the only ones that have already finished the work.

Scripture: John 10

Jesus is our Good Shepherd.

Not only is He the Shepherd, He is also the door of the sheep:

I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.

Vs. 9

He wants good for us. He wants life abundant for us. Contrast this with the thief:

He wants this for us so badly that He sacrificed Himself for us.

As His sheep we have abundant life here on earth because He fulfills us. And this abundant life doesn’t end with death. It’s eternal:

That’s true security. He knows our names, we know His voice, and no one can take this relationship from us.

Scripture: John 3:1-16

This is good news.

Nicodemus came by night to seek answers from Jesus. He was having a hard time thinking beyond the flesh.

4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

God sent His Son to save us, and He sent His Spirit to help us.

Like I said, it’s Good News…only believe.
