Scripture: Genesis 12

God said go. So Abram went.

Don’t you wonder what that was like? Don’t you wish it was always so cut and dry?

Life’s messy though, and even for Abram who exemplifies such bold faith things didn’t always go smoothly…just read the rest of the chapter.

Bottom line: God’s got a plan. Even if we think we’ve screwed it up.

Daily Dig: 9/1/20

Scripture: Genesis 9

I’ve always thought it was interesting that the Lord says the rainbow will remind HIM of the covenant he made with Noah. Why does God need to be reminded? I don’t know.

I do know that when I see a rainbow in the clouds I can remember that He sees us, and He’s the perfect judge and creator: controller of the rains and the oceans and the floods and all of nature.

And I’m humbled.

Eternally grateful for His mercy that never gives us what we deserve and His grace that gives us what we most certainly do not deserve.

Journal: Write a prayer of admiration for God’s work and power in nature.

Move: Run.

{Beginner’s run #10: Walk 5 minutes to warm-up, then run 5 minute/walk 1 minute x5, then walk 5 minutes to cool-down.}

Praise the Lord, and just show up!

Daily Dig: 7/1/20

Scripture: Genesis 7 and 8

When the Lord flooded the whole earth it wasn’t reckless destruction. It was calculated, organized, and purposeful. He is a God of order even when it comes to demolition.

He always has a purpose, He always has a plan, and He seals it with a promise.

He upholds creation by the word of His mouth.

Journal: Write a prayer of thanksgiving to God for His power and protection.

Move: A basic workout for home or gym:

Praise the Lord, and just show up.
