Scripture: Matthew 10
In order to share the Truth, you have to know the Truth.
In order to know the Truth, you have to spend time in/with the Truth.
Jesus had spent time with these apostles, and now He’s sending them out. They don’t go alone though.
17 Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues, 18 and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles. 19 When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. 20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
The Spirit of the Father was with them.
They had nothing to fear:
28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Let us follow their example.
Spend time with Jesus. Spend time in His Word. And go.
Take up your cross, leave your old fearful, self-seeking, self-made, flesh-driven life, and find a new one.
38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Journal: Write a prayer asking the Lord to give you what you need as He did with the disciples. He definitely will.
