Scripture: Psalm 40

Waiting is one thing, waiting PATIENTLY is a-whole-nother ballgame.

Yet the return is worth it:

He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.

Psalm 40:2‭-‬3

The point I like is that it’s about more than just me or you individually. It’s about our testimony to others of the faithfulness of the Lord.

If we can wait patiently for the Lord “many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.”

Trust the Lord, do not turn to the proud ways of the world, and then go tell others of the Lord’s work in your life and heart.

I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; behold, I have not restrained my lips, as you know, O Lord . I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart; I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation.

Psalm 40:9‭-‬10

Journal: Write a prayer for patience. Some people say “Oh, don’t pray for patience!” But that’s wrong. Patience is a trait the Lord wants us to have through His Spirit. You have to submit to the work of the Spirit. Don’t fear the Lord’s hand taking over your life.

Move: Tempo run. Warm-up with an easy jog, run at a pace just out of your comfort zone for 12-18 minutes, then cool-down with an easy jog.

{Beginner’s run #4: Walk 5 minutes to warm-up, then run 3 minutes/walk 1 minute x5, then walk 5 minutes to cool-down.}

Praise the Lord, and just show up.
