Scripture: Daniel 6
Rulers and authorities come and go. Laws of countries are always changing. The standards of the world are always shifting.
God’s authority never fades.
God’s law is final and complete.
God’s standard is a firm foundation.
Daniel knew that a decree had been signed that made it illegal for him to pray to God. He also knew that his God had more authority than the king. He prayed to God as usual. He stood courageously in his faith.

And it paid off. In the end King Darius proclaimed:
26 I make a decree, that in all my royal dominion people are to tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for he is the living God, enduring forever; his kingdom shall never be destroyed, and his dominion shall be to the end. 27 He delivers and rescues; he works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, he who has saved Daniel from the power of the lions.”
God saves. God wins.
