Scripture: Psalm 20
We are in a day of trouble: call to the Lord.
This Psalm (according to this commentary by Charles Spurgeon) is an anthem to be sung at the outbreak of war.
We are in a war: good against evil.
Don’t be confused on which is which. It’s not black against white, or cops against the world, it’s between the father of lies and the God of Truth. Open your Bible and find the Truth. Raise your banner in the name of the Lord alone. The victory has always been His.
“And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.” We lift the standard of defiance in the face of the foe, and wave the flag of victory over the fallen adversary. Some proclaim war in the name of one king, and some of another, but the faithful go to war in Jesu’s name, the name of the incarnate God, Immanuel, God with us. The times are evil at present, but so long as Jesus lives and reigns in his church we need not furl our banners in fear, but advance them with sacred courage.

Journal: Write a prayer and raise your war banner for the Lord. PRAYER IS OUR GREATEST WEAPON.
