Scripture: Genesis 5
When Lamech named Noah, meaning rest, the Lord must have given him the name along with the hope that there would be a change in circumstance.
The time was obviously a trying one and the curse of the ground must have been intensely felt.
I wonder if Lamech knew by what means this “relief” would come?
I doubt it.
Would his perspective of God have changed?
Would yours???
The Lord knows what the world needs. “None can stay his hand or say to him, ‘What have you done?'” (Daniel 4:35).
Let your perspective of God not alter. He’s good, He’s sovereign, He knows the beginning and the end, and He knew you before you were in your mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5). He knows all our names. He loves us with a perfect Father’s love. Trust Him to bring relief; He gives rest to our souls.
Journal: Write a prayer thanking the Lord for what He’s done and what He’s going to do.
