Scripture: Acts 27-28 (finishing Acts!)

Paul was on the last leg of his journey.
While they attempted to sail toward Rome they faced storms so violent and so on-going that the sailors and passengers soon lost hope of survival:
20 When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope of our being saved was at last abandoned.
But Paul had a message from God (as usual) and he was ready to encourage the men.
22 Yet now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship. 23 For this very night there stood before me an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I worship, 24 and he said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar. And behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’
Be like Paul.
Be the person who has a message of encouragement in the midst of life’s storms.
Where do you get that message???
***Sunday school answer alert!***
Read your Bible and pray.
Walk daily with the Lord in the Word and in prayer and when the rough times, days, or moments come upon you or others you’ll be ready with a word (or an action) to help.
From Relying on the Power of the Spirit devotional by Elizabeth George:

- Make the most of negative situations
- Do something useful
- Serve God; Serve others
- Step forward
Journal: List some people you can serve. Start with your family. Pray for them and then take action where action is needed.
Move: Find a 3-4 mile route that has at least 3-4 hills of any size. Run it and surge up the hills.
{Beginner’s run #17: Walk 5 minutes to warm-up, then run 7 minute/walk 1 minute x3, then walk 5 minutes to cool-down.}
Praise the Lord and keep showing up!
