Scripture: 2 Peter 1

I like when the Bible gives these lists, where one thing leads to another:
“For this very reason, make every effort to supplement
- your faith with virtue,
- and virtue with knowledge,
- and knowledge with self-control,
- and self-control with steadfastness,
- and steadfastness with godliness,
- and godliness with brotherly affection,
- and brotherly affection with love.
For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” -2 Peter 1:5-8
It begins with faith and it ends with love. Believe Jesus and love one another.
For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 1:9-11
That says it all.
Journal: Ponder over the list above…write it out for yourself. If you don’t know exactly what some of the words mean or how they apply try using the “tools” in the blueletterbible.org link above (or here) and click around until you find the Greek word and its definition. Write them down and think about how they apply to your life today.
Move: Let’s take a day and do some hip maintenance. These are important exercises to keep in your pocket if you follow any fitness or running plan. If your hips get tight you’ll sometimes feel sciatic nerve pain or pain in your knees or back. These exercises help with flexibility and mobility within the hip:

Here’s a link to the article this workout is based on: hip strength and mobility on active.com. It includes pictures. 😊 And even though it says “for runners,” these exercises are really great for everyone.
Praise the Lord, and keep showing up!
Still catching up on your blog, lol. These verses amaze me how brotherly love and finally love are the end of all these qualities. You’d think love would be among the first and yet is probably one of the hardest to truly attain. Because true love requires self sacrifice, and we don’t like that. Good works are easier. Loving is hard.
