Daily Dig: 1/23/21

Scripture: Acts 6:1-8:3

What if all believers were like Stephen…”full of grace and power.” He was on fire!

He didn’t back down when faced with persecution, but became even bolder, preaching the Gospel by way of the Old Testament and calling out the Jews who had forsaken Jesus.

He was on fire because he had all the elements. He had knowledge (the wood) and the Holy Spirit (the spark and really the fire itself).

He calls the Jews persecuting him “stiff-necked” and “uncircumcised in heart and ears,” which means they’re religious on the outside but they resist the Holy Spirit….

They have the wood for the fire, but no spark. It’s useless knowledge.

Don’t resist the Holy Spirit. Pray and submit to God. Ask for the spark to light the fire in your heart!

Journal: Write a prayer asking God to equip you in case you need to answer for your faith.

Move: Find a hill and run up it (10-20 seconds), then walk or jog down and recover (60-90 seconds). If you did 4 last week, then do 5 this week. Progress!

{Beginner’s run #11: warm-up with a 5- minute walk, then run 5 minutes/walk 1 minute x4, then cool-down with a 5- minute walk.} Yep…it’s an easier day. Enjoy!

Start a fire.

Praise the Lord, and just show up!
