Scripture: Daniel 1

How are those New Year’s Resolutions going? Did you even make any?
In this passage of Scripture we see Daniel make a resolution…but he didn’t wait til New Year’s Eve.
8 But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king’s food, or with the wine that he drank. Therefore he asked the chief of the eunuchs to allow him not to defile himself. 9 And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs
We can learn from Daniel to stand firm in our beliefs when faced with opposition or temptation. But we don’t need to wait until this opposition or temptation is in our face; we need to resolve beforehand how we’re going to answer or escape.
Be ready, be resolved, and trust the Lord with the rest.
“preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry” (2 Tim. 4:2-5).
Journal: It’s a new day. Renew your resolutions. Write them down.
If you didn’t set any goals that would help grow your relationship with Christ, add one in now, don’t wait. Maybe resolve to memorize a verse every week. I love the Remember Me app to help with this.
Move: Run or rest (repeat from yesterday).
If you didn’t workout yesterday: Move for at least an hour…easy run as much as you can, walk if you need to…no pressure, enjoy the time.
{Beginner’s run #9: warm-up with a 5- minute walk, then run 5 minutes/walk 1 minute x4, then cool-down with a 5- minute walk.}
Praise the Lord, and keep showing up.
