Scripture: Acts 3:1-5:42

Last week we talked about the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts. This week we get to see His power in action.
Peter and John are on mission…healing and teaching.
Meanwhile, the church is flourishing, and they “had everything in common.”
Then two people are killed for lying to God. (This is recieved as a message confirming God’s authority, power, and the fact that He is to be feared.)
The wonders and signs continue, and the church grows.
Then the apostles are thrown in prison, but quickly released by an angel of God.
They go right back to work.
But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
Acts 5:29-32
Unstoppable.
The same power is available for us:
- By salvation in Jesus.
- By the Holy Spirit given to us.
- By praying for boldness.
- By fearing God rather than men.
Journal: Write a prayer for boldness like the people of the early church did (4:29).
Move: Run fartleks. (Remember that’s just a funny name for speed play.)
Warmup with 5 minutes to 1 mile easy jogging then pick a point and run to it fast, run slow for 1- 5 minutes (or another visual point), and then run fast again. Keep repeating. I do this for 5 miles.
{Beginner’s run #8: warm-up with a 5- minute walk, then run 4 minutes/walk 1 minute x4, then cool-down with a 5- minute walk.} -yes, easier than yesterday.
Be unstoppable.
Praise the Lord, and keep showing up.
