Daily Dig: 11/6/20

Scripture: Matthew 18

I fear for coaches of youth sports who make children choose between church or athletics.

While I don’t think it’s a sin to miss church on occasion I do see a problem with kids being kept from church as a sacrifice for sports.

The weight of this doesn’t fall on the coaches alone though. Parents can make decisions for the themselves and stop being bullied into “required” games and practices. They can also take steps to make sure their children still have some time during the week when they’re meeting with other Christians.

Better yet, parents can teach their children the Word and the children can make their own decision to drop a sport that is drawing them away from things of Christ.

Meeting with other believers is crucial…not just for children, but for anyone who wants to stand in the fight against the gates of hell.

Sure, one Christian can stand alone…we always have God with us…but it’s the cord of three strands that is not easily broken.

 Though one may be overpowered,

    two can defend themselves.

A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Ecclesiastes 4:12

Bring the children to Jesus. Teach them His Word. Be as a child yourself and hold tight to your faith in humility. It’s our faith in Jesus that makes the difference in the end…

Journal: Write a prayer thanking the Lord that we have the freedom to meet together in His name. Don’t take it for granted.

Move: “8 minutes to flat abs” is a LIE. (Pinterest is full of lies if you haven’t noticed.) HOWEVER, you might be sore the next day.😉

Praise the Lord, and just show up.
