Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 1
I make many resolutions to “do better”.
I want to pray more, read more, encourage more, move more, eat better, fast with purpose, love better, be a better wife, mom, friend, teacher.
And then there’s “affliction”. Most of it comes from me falling to temptations, or being lazy, or un-disciplined. A small bit may come from negative words or reactions from other people.
If you’re the same then you know there are two choices when afflictions come: fold in defeat or forge onward in faith.
Steadfastness in faith through persecutions and afflictions is the way to go (vs. 4). Our endurance will be rewarded.
when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels 8 in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, 10 when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.
He will give us the power we need. He will give us the “resolve” to work toward our resolutions (vs. 11).

11 To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Journal: Write a prayer and renew your resolutions with the Lord. Pray for endurance.
Move: Run. I’m moving hills/intervals to Tuesdays now…just because I don’t think anyone will notice. Haha. So today. Just run, walk, move.
{Beginner’s run #11: Walk 5 minutes to warm-up, then run 5 minutes/walk 1 minute x4, then walk 5 minutes to cool-down.}
Praise the Lord, and just show up.
