Daily Dig: 5/8/20

Scripture: Mark 5

Jesus relates to different people in different ways. Sometimes we can see why and sometimes it’s a little perplexing.

He even relates to demons in different ways: The demons in this story didn’t want to be sent out of the country, so for some reason Jesus sends them into a herd of pigs. I don’t know why…Jesus had His own reasons I’m sure.

The man who had been possessed by the demons wanted to go along with Jesus, like the disciples had been asked to do, but Jesus told him to go home instead…Again, I’m sure Jesus had his reasons.

As He was on His way to heal a little girl a woman touched His garment and she was healed. Her faith made her well, and He sent her away in peace. Jesus had His reasons for her too.

The little girl died before Jesus got there, He knew this, and told them, “Do not fear, only believe.” He came to her, and raised her up. Then He told the them to not tell anyone. He had reasons.

Jesus has His reasons. We may not always understand. All He asks of us is to not fear, only believe.

Journal: Write a prayer submitting to Jesus’ reasoning. Pray for faith to believe.

Move: From my Pinterest board… some of my favorite yoga stretches:

I saved this one on Pinterest a long time ago…didn’t realize there would be a new reason to want your own pew. Ha.

Praise the Lord, and just show up.

  1. I have been meditating on the demon possessed man maybe couple of months ago and how he wished to be with the Lord. When life turns too hard to bear, we long deeply for Heaven and we beg, just like that man to be with The Lord. What was Christ’s response? Mark 5:19: And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” When we go through trials and God heals us, just like Peter, we are to turn around and strenghten The Brothers, tell them how much He has done for us. The Single Pew is hilarious! 🤩😂
