Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 3, Ephesians 6

There’s a spiritual war among us. Two sides warring for our attentions and our souls.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:12

Paul knew this and he sent Timothy to check on the Thessalonians because he was worried they would be swayed by Satan’s lies:

Paul knew about Satan and his crafty ways. We should know about him too…and keep up our guard.:

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

Ephesians 6:13

Paul also knew that even though he was far away from the Thessalonians he was not without the ability to defend them from these attacks.

He had the armour of God for himself and he had the power of prayer as a weapon:

We have this power as well. We only have to use it. Not only for ourselves but for other believers:

praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints

Ephesians 6:18

We have the right to put up a battle against Satan, and if we’re trusting the power of Christ we can be assured that we stand victorious:

From Precept upon Precept: 1 Thessalonians

Let’s go to battle, friends. We have victory in Jesus.

Journal: Write a prayer for someone you know who is struggling with their faith.

Move: Run day. Intervals or hills…your choice. Just get out and either find a hill or pick a landmark and run fast for a minute, recover, and do it again.

{Beginner’s run #2: Walk 5 minutes to warm-up, then run 2 minute/walk 1 minute x6, then walk 5 minutes to cool-down.}

Praise the Lord, and keep showing up!
