Scripture: 1 Timothy 3 and 4
In this letter to Timothy Paul lays out some qualifications for deacons and overseers of the church, stating that the church is “a pillar and buttress of the truth.”
He then reminds us of its foundation.
He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.Vs. 16
He goes on to warn Timothy that some will be deceived by spirits and demons. And instructs him:
7 Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness;
Just as we train our bodies with exercise for physical strength we must also train our souls for godliness and spiritual strength.
We need to be immersed in the Truth, so when deceitful spirits attack (and these attacks come every day!) we will be ready to fight the lies.
Journal: Write down any lies you’ve believed. Then look up scripture that combats each one. Memorize these scriptures. Pray for eyes to see the truth.
Move: Now it’s time to exercise the body:
Praise the Lord, and just show up!
