Daily Dig: 1/18/20

Scripture: 1 Samuel 1

Hannah is such a beautiful example of prayer, faith, and sacrifice.

She prays so fervently for a child that the priest thinks she’s drunk. Let us carry our desires to the Lord in fervent prayer like this (James 5:16-18).

She goes away with her face uplifted. Let us have confidence that He hears us and will answer us like this (1 John 5:14-15).

And when her prayers are answered she turns and dedicates it all back to the Lord…her flesh and bone she gives to the Lord’s service. Let us sacrifice every part of ourselves to the Lord like this (Romans 12:1-2).

Journal: Write a prayer for the thing you most desire. If you can’t think of anything for yourself then pray for a friend…maybe you know someone who wants to have a baby but hasn’t been able to conceive…pray on her behalf.

Move: Run or rest.

I’m focusing now on laying some ground work for a couple of spring races so just getting in a generic “long run” on the weekends is my goal.

Move for at least an hour…easy run as much as you can, walk if you need to…no pressure, enjoy the time.

{Beginner’s run #9: warm-up with a 5- minute walk, then run 5 minutes/walk 1 minute x4, then cool-down with a 5- minute walk.}

Praise the Lord, and keep showing up!
