Home Rehab Day 9: Stonework, Floorboards, and a Sermon

After an awe inspiring church service this morning we headed back out to the house for some B sandwiches (that’s a BLT minus the L and T) and a little hard work.

Before I go further I want to comment on how wonderful my church family is…so very encouraging and generous.  We’ve had several people offer services and supplies that we can really use, and it’s been a vivid picture of what the church should be. It also goes beyond just Crossroads Baptist, to the wide body of believers who just want to show love with what they have to share. We’ve been very humbled by it all and I pray that we will return, or pass along to others, that love and generosity whenever we have the opportunity.

This whole day was like a show of the gifts of the Spirit:

Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

Romans 12:6-8

I’m so thankful for my church…near and far.

Anyway, we did get some thing’s done today before IV has to go back to work tomorrow…

Susan and I finished the living room. This is where the stonework is:

Richard, IV, and King got some floor boards put down in the upstairs room…it’s starting to take shape!

We also put some furniture together and cleaned up the work space.

We missed Nana and Poppy, but they took the two littles home with them to Tennessee…they’re really suffering up there:

So today we were doubly thankful for friends to help and keep us company at the same time.

Praise the Lord.
